The Pengu KIDS story

It all started with a dream.

My name is Maile Mölder and I am the founder of Pengu KIDS. Once I had a dream of creating beautiful things. Back then I did not know that this dream would grow into an outerwear brand for children. As a mother of two, I began to notice something that was missing from children's winter clothing.

Winter clothes can be beautiful too

Girls wore lovely dresses and skirts, but in cold weather a short sporty jacket usually had to go on top. At the same time, mothers of boys told me they were also looking for longer winter jackets for their children. Children needed winter clothing that kept them warm and comfortable, yet still looked good.

This is how Pengu KIDS was born

I wanted a girl in a dress to be able to wear a beautiful knee-length coat that keeps her warm on a cold winter day, and a boy to find a longer winter jacket that is practical, comfortable and stylish at the same time.

I did not want to choose between beauty and practicality — I wanted to create both.

From that thought, the Pengu KIDS children's outerwear brand grew in Estonia in 2015. A brand that creates longer down parkas and knee-length down coats for children. The style, details and patterns of our products are born in Estonia.

Almost like adults, but not quite.

This thought has been with the Pengu KIDS brand from the very beginning.

We love the timeless style and considered design of adult clothing, but our clothes are made for children. That is why in every Pengu KIDS product we look for a balance between warmth, lightness, comfort and good design.

We believe that practical winter clothing for children can also be beautiful.

“I had a dream that girls who wear dresses would not have to put a sporty jacket on top in winter. Instead, they could have a beautiful knee-length coat that keeps them warm on cold winter days.”
